ArtPlay is a new Osceola Arts exhibition encouraging you to play. A local creator is all about that.

1. Marcos Carrasco of College Park is a multidisciplinary artist. He dropped out of med school to pursue a full-time job in the arts. He’s one of many artists featured in the new ArtPlay experience.

2. “When I was younger, I learned to follow the rules,“ he said, smirking. “But eventually, in art, I believe you have to break the rules and find your style.”

3. His mom is a retired geologist and his late father was a university dean. But Marcos said he has art in his veins and risked the leap into making creation a full-time job. He works with everything from clay to inflatable metals.

4. ArtPlay: Florida Sculptors Summer Art Exhibition is going on now in Kissimmee at Osceola Arts. You’ll see representations of things like violins, fish and forks. Stuff you can “play” with.
