ORLANDO, Fla. – First responders risk their own lives to save ours. Now, a new summertime experience at the Orlando Science Center puts you (safely) on the front lines and into some dangerous situations.
The exhibit is called Rescue. It has 19 interactive experiences meant to engage critical thinking.
For instance, what would you do if a person is stranded out in the water and you're able to hop on a jet ski? A simulator lets you hop on and figure it out.
Rescue also has a life-sized helicopter, also equipped with simulator technology.
“Every micro decision that a first responder makes is life or death, so it's kinda introducing those critical thinking skills,” said Zachary Mailhot, a science program interpreter at the Orlando Science Center.
Rescue is included with admission. Online reservations are best, unless you love standing in a line. The new exhibit is in town through Sept. 6.
