ORLANDO, Fla. — Dezerland, opening soon, is touted as Florida's largest indoor attraction at 1.2 million square feet.
We were given exclusive access to unveil how it's all coming together. Here are five things to know before you go:
1. Dezerland Park is located at the old Artegon Marketplace, which closed in 2017. "This is going to completely revitalize north I-Drive," Dezerland's marketing director Robert Morris tells us during our exclusive visit. "We're going to be an attraction that people can come into 365 days a year because it never rains at Dezerland."
2. The main attraction is Michael Dezer's vehicle collection. The Orlando location has nearly 2,000 cars, many of which are straight from the TV or movie set. Those include Harry Potter, James Bond, Batman, Back to the Future, Austin Powers, Ghostbusters, Dukes of Hazzard, Terminator, and many others. That means your favorite stars were the ones in the driver's seat!
3. In addition to the cars, Dezerland Park will have 12 bowling lanes, a Jump Start Trampoline Park, Orlando's "longest go-kart track," bumper cars, arcades, food, carnival rides, and a Bond-themed lounge.
4. Speaking of themes, there are a bunch of spaces such as the "Bat Cave" and "Cars of the Stars," that can be rented out. "We call it 10 unique venues," Morris says. "That's one of the greatest aspects here is you're not just able to walk in an enjoy it, you're able to have events in here."
5. Dezerland officials have not announced a 2020 opening date just yet. They're still working on admission and pricing.
