ORLANDO, Fla. — As the conflict between Iran and Israel continues to escalate, experts are weighing in on the possible ramifications.
Former Department of Homeland Security Militia Advisor for the Middle East Christopher Hinn said he believes we’re in a dangerous time right now.
He says that in the next 24-48 hours, there needs to be a ceasefire or some kind of resolution, or else this conflict could escalate to something that no country wants.
"And what we’re going to see if Iran keeps firing missiles is that Israel is not going to sit back, and it’ll go to the next level, which is going to be a full strike, and that’s something nobody wants," Hinn said.
Hinn has spent decades staying in the know in the Middle East and right now, he fears what a potential war could do.
“What’s it going to do to the economy, the general public, and also, where is it going to go next," Hinn said. "Is it going to go to a third world war? I hope not.”
He says he is worried about the economic impacts not only for Israel and Iran, but for the U.S. as well.
“It has negative effects on everything for our cost of living, our economy, our travel and anything you can think of — it is going to get affected. And that’s where it’s going to have an impact on the economy. Much worse than we’ve ever seen before,” Hinn said.
Hinn also said it’s clear that the people of both Iran and Israel don’t want this conflict and it’s up to their leaders to step in.
“Iran, I believe, will sit down, but it’s going to take some time. There has to be a ceasefire first. Without ceasefire, I think it’s going to continue to escalate.”
Hinn feels that the best bet is for President Donald Trump to once again re-engage in talks with Iran in order to bring them to the table.
