MADISON, Wis. — A federal court in Madison granted a motion that will allow a University of Wisconsin-Madison international student to keep his visa, at least for now.
On Tuesday, the court granted a temporary restraining that prevents Homeland Security from revoking the Krish Lal Isserdasani’s visa. The order also prevents Homeland Security from detaining him until a preliminary injunction hearing on April 28.
Two other international students who attend UW-Madison who had visas revoked will have additional time to present their cases.
At least 41 international students and recent alumni on extensions in Wisconsin have had visas revoked. That includes at least 26 at UW-Madison, at least 10 at UW-Milwaukee, at least four at other Universities of Wisconsin schools and at least one at Marquette University.
