DALLAS — The 7th Annual Texas Pie Fest returns to the Lone Star State for all things pie related.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, April 26, in Rockwall, Texas, just east of Dallas on Tate Farms. Activities start at 10 a.m. and last until 3 p.m.
For only a $10 entry free, you can show off your skills with the pie baking contest. Pies can be sweet or savory, and the celebtrity line-up of judges will evaluate the winner based on taste, creativity and overall presentation.
Maybe you’re not much of a baker, but pie eating is right up your alley! Then the pie-eating contest is for you. With a $5 entry free, participants must use their hands only and be in good health, free from food-related allergies. The first to finish wins the race. The contest is open to kids, adults and pets.
The festival ends with a pie fight. Only the approved whip cream pies are allowed. Hard or dangerous items are prohibited during the pie smashing. Appropriate clothing and footwear are required to join in.
In addition to the activities, festival go-ers can expect artisan vendors, live music, food trucks and other pie-themed fun. Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs, who made a splash at last year’s State Fair of Texas, will be in attendance with their famous corn dogs
Pie lovers can find registration details for the actitivies and purchase tickets on the official Texas Pie Fest website.
