AUSTIN, Texas — A home explosion in northwest Austin on Sunday left six people injured and 24 homes damaged.

The Travis County Fire Marshall reported on Friday that the explosion resulted from a substantial propane gas leak inside the residence.

The Austin Fire Department said in the immediate aftermath of the explosion that six patients were rescued and were undergoing treatment, with two in critical condition.

Two firefighters were injured while treating people at the scene.

10407 Double Spur Loop is the site of the home that exploded.

The explosion of the home resulted in damage to several neighboring houses, with one completely collapsed and another partially collapsed.
