In a show of support, the color blue will illuminate Honolulu Hale and the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena from sundown on Sunday, April 13, 2025, to sunrise on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The lighting display, requested by Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, will celebrate Make-A-Wish Hawaii and World Wish Month.

The nonprofit Make-A-Wish Hawaii creates life-changing experiences that bring hope, strength and joy to wish children and their families. World Wish Month, celebrated in April, honors the impact of wishes granted to children facing critical illnesses, according to a news release.

“This symbolic gesture is our way of standing with these incredible kids and their families in recognizing the profound impact a granted wish can have on their lives,” said Blangiardi. “We are honored to support Make-A-Wish Hawaii and reaffirm our commitment to bringing hope to keiki in need.”

By lighting two of Honolulu’s most iconic landmarks in blue, the City and County of Honolulu shows its support for local wish families and all those working together to make wishes come true.
