AUSTIN, Texas — Get ready for the return of the Paramount Theatre’s Summer Classic Film Series, starting late May.
The May 22 opening night will feature “Casablanca” and “Breathless” at 7 p.m.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Jaws”, the theatre will have a special showing on May 24 at 3 p.m.
Five double features of Robert Rodriguez’s favorite classics, complete with behind-the-scenes stories, will premiere on May 24. The May 24 double feature includes Martin Scorsese’s “After Hours” and “Into the Night.”
In honor of its 45th anniversary, “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” will premiere at the theatre on May 25 at 3 p.m. “There Will Be Blood” will screen at 7 p.m., depicting Daniel Day-Lewis as a ruthless businessman clashing with Paul Dano’s preacher, exploring themes of religion and capitalism in America.
On May 28, the double feature will be “Best in Show” and “Waiting for Guffman.”
The first 9 films have been announced with an expected 90+ to screen throughout the series.
