WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Hancock County Sheriff's Office said severe weather caused a train in Washington Township to tip over early Thursday morning.
The train was stationary and sat at SR 613 and TR 261. Close to 1 a.m., deputies responded to the scene.
The sheriff's office said several containers tipped over, but they had no hazardous materials inside.
The railroad crossings near TR 262 and TR 262 south of SR 613 are expected to be closed for an undetermined amount of time as CSX works to clear the tracks. Officials are urging the public to be careful and aware of CSX workers in that area.
There were also no reported injuries from incident.
CSX said in a statement to Spectrum News 1 that there is no threat to the safety of the community.
