AKRON, Ohio — The Akron METRO Regional Transit Authority announced it's partnering with the RubberDucks to provide free rides to ticket holders this season.
Ticket holders just need to present a valid RubberDucks ticket to operators of any METRO Direct fixed-line route to ride for free. The free rides will only be offered on the day of the game, as it's listed on the ticket.
The partnership will begin with the first season home game on April 8, and it will last through the last home game on Sept. 7.
“METRO RTA is all about keeping Summit County moving and fostering a sense of community,” said Molly Becker, director of PR and Marketing. “The Akron RubberDucks have been a staple of Akron and plays a key role in the vitality of downtown Akron, and there’s no better way to build pride in our city and get people engaged than making access to these games easier.”
The offer is only valid for METRO Direct and ADA services during daily operating hours on the dates of home games.
“We are excited to partner with METRO RTA to make it easier for our fans to get to RubberDucks games this season,” RubberDucks President and General Manager Jim Pfander said. “METRO RTA is a key part of our community and a great way to travel in Summit County. We can’t wait to see everyone back at Canal Park on April 8.”
