AUSTIN, Texas — After missing the SEC Championshio and The Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl, Bevo will appear at the Cotton Bowl next week.
Texas Football announced the famed longhorn is traveling to Arlington, Texas, for the game against Ohio State Jan. 10 at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium. The winner will go to the CFP National Championship in Atlanta on Jan. 20.
Bevo wasn’t allowed on the sidelines for Texas' last two games in Georgia. Officials for both games said there wasn’t enough room for the longhorn, and they also wanted to prioritize safety.
Bevo is the largest live mascot in college sports, weighing 1,700 pounds and with a horn span of 58 inches.
Bevo has caused a stir in the past. Before the 2019 Sugar Bowl, Bevo toppled his barrier and charged at Uga X, Georgia’s mascot. Texas handlers pulled Bevo back before he caused any harm.
