ORLANDO, Fla. — Thousands of Floridians have had their power turned back on after it was knocked out by Hurricane Milton.
Duke Energy crews were out Friday fixing power lines. Spokesperson Audrey Stasko advised residents to check on their contact information so that way the power company can update them with the latest information.
"Aside from customers giving us their patience, make sure that your contact information is up to date in our system. That's the way we're going to keep you up to date about the outage, about restoration times, as well as just safety," she said. "Make sure we know that people want to get back to their lives, but safety is so important."
Duke Energy said they have restored power to more than 350,000 customers.
Florida Power & Light (FPL) said nearly 1.3 million customers have their power back and Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) said nearly 65% of their customers have power again.
They are aiming for full restoration by Monday.
