Cisco is often found sorting and stacking clothes and supplies inside the Beyond Pregnancy Care center in Kissimmee. The nonprofit works to provide help to parents to become better parents and to move beyond a crisis — and to thrive.
“It makes me feel good, gives me so much,” Cisco said. “I leave here tired, but happy I was able to help.”
The center is set up much like a boutique — everything placed with purpose.
“This is an actual boutique so they (parents) can feel important,” Cisco said.
Beyond Pregnancy Care provides confidential services to parents at no cost. Ivette Rodriguez founded the nonprofit because of her own life experiences.
“At age 15, I was a teenage pregnant mom, and I myself was in a crisis situation and needed resource assistance, mentoring and guidance and could not find that,” Rodriguez said.
Wanting to ensure resources to those in need, especially Spanish-speaking individuals, Rodriguez was determined to make a difference.
The center provides hope and resources to young parents seeking help and gives volunteers like Cisco an opportunity to give back and to have an impact.
