The public hearing will focus on three properties along North Central Avenue and East Lake Avenue.

The plans call for around 1,300 affordable and senior units and about 550 units that will go for market rate.

If approved, construction on the new community will begin in 2025. An exact timeline on the project hasn’t been determined, however demolition is expected to happen early next year.

About $4 million of federal money will help support the project, which will also feature a community hub, allowing residents access to employment training, child care and other resources.

Tampa's Housing Authority has been working to relocate residents in Robles Park Village ahead of the project, and currently around 80 remain.
