The Buffalo Bills are banged up heading into their final preseason game this weekend, so starters will not play against the Panthers.

Backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky will be out for multiple weeks with a knee injury, so the Bills signed two new reserve quarterbacks in two weeks: Anthony Brown and Ben DiNucci.

At wide receiver, both Curtis Samuel and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are sidelined for now. For a team with a host of new faces at receiver, offensive coordinator Joe Brady isn’t worried about the lack of time with Josh Allen in practice and the preseason.

“If you can give more years and more weeks and practices and more reps, I’ll take all of that,” said Brady. “But I haven’t had questions about the receiver room since I’ve had them and put them together. I love how they’re working, how they’re gelling, how they’re playing together [and] the communication that they have with Josh.”

Rookie wideout Keon Coleman says his performance through the preseason has been so-so, adding he could always be better. For a young player learning about life in the NFL, it’s now about finding answers against top-notch competition.

“This is how I think guys are going to play a guy like my size and a lot of that sometimes changes throughout games but especially for young guys is it’s getting a feel of who are you going against, and then knowing what’s in your tools and how they’re going to play it against you,” said Brady.

“Really you can understand the rhythm that they play at, the type of things they take away and then from watching the film, taking account the guys doing the same things that you can do and just imagine how I would stop myself, pretty much,” said Coleman.

On the defensive side, a few players returned to practice in some fashion, including rookie safety Cole Bishop, who has been out since the middle of training camp with a shoulder injury.

The Bills play their preseason finale Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
