Kita Miller was one traveler who had to practice some patience inside the busy airport Monday.

“We’re waiting now cause there’s a flight delay,” she said.

Miller, who comes to Orlando five or six times a year for cruises with her family, said she had no idea what time she would arrive home in Delaware, because her flight had been delayed three times already.

“That gives me a little anxiety," she said. "One, everybody is back to school and work tomorrow. We have pets at home."

Between May 23 and Tuesday, airport officials said close to 1 million travelers were expected at MCO.

The biggest share, about 177,000, were expected to pass through on Monday.

Courtland Moore, a father of two, was one of them. He wasn't dealing with delays, but still had a lot of time to kill at Orlando International Airport.

“We were traveling, going on a Disney cruise in the Bahamas for three days,” he said.

For Moore’s family, it was hurry up and wait Monday after they arrived early in preparation for the Memorial Day travel crowds.

“It’s the holiday weekend, so let's just get here and find stuff to do here at the airport,” he said.

Airport officials said Tuesday travel numbers are expected to be lower, with about 157,000 travelers expected to go through MCO.
