  • As a senior strategic adviser, Gallagher will work with startups and established businesses to explore “technology-driven transformations”

Gallagher will serve as a senior strategic adviser, the venture capital firm announced Monday.

Gallagher was a U.S. Representative from 2017 to 2024. Gallagher, who’s 39, is a father of two. He said he and his wife want to grow their family.

“This lifestyle is not suited for that, and that’s the main thing,” he told Spectrum News 1 after he announced his retirement from Congress. “And I just, always when I ran, I knew this wasn’t going to be a career for me. I don’t think it should be a career. I think you should serve for a short period of time and then go home.”

Nevertheless, Titletown Tech said his political experience and causes he championed in Congress made him a good fit for the job, citing his “extensive experience in national security, technology policy and public service.”

“Bringing Mike into our organization is a critical step forward in our commitment to innovation and competitiveness,” said TitletownTech managing partner Craig Dickman. “His leadership in Congress and deep knowledge of technology and security will be crucial as we continue to back transformative companies in various sectors.”

As a senior strategic adviser, Gallagher will work with startups and established businesses to explore “technology-driven transformations.”

“I am excited to join TitletownTech and contribute to its mission of transforming Wisconsin into a hub of technological innovation,” said Gallagher. “Wisconsin is on the front lines of geopolitical competition in the 21st century and has a critical role to play in enhancing America’s economic competitiveness in general and technological leadership in particular. I look forward to working with the TitletownTech team to drive Wisconsin’s growth by making it the best destination for top-level tech-talent and thereby advance America’s national security interests.”

Gallagher is a Marine veteran who chaired the high-profile special House Committee investigating China. He’s been an outspoken voice against the Chinese Communist Party and worked with both Democrats and Republicans on perhaps his most high-profile legislation: a bill to separate TikTok from its Chinese-owned parent company.
