DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A+ Teacher Emily Fagerstrom is a champion for not only students but teachers. She is motivated to keep learning and says she hopes her students will do the same.

Fagerstrom says she's always striving to learn more so that she can teach more at her Daytona Beach school.
"And just making sure that I'm current in all of our hands-on learning and making sure kids are understanding but also incorporating technology when I can," she says.
Fagerstrom has a unique job because she doesn't work in just one classroom. She is a math instructional coach for the entire school and loves it.
"It is the best of both worlds because I get to work with my teachers, and I get to work with students and really working with the whole school has really just been so impactful on me being able to touch the lives of so many people," she says.
Fagerstrom says it is important to know what the students are into these days to keep them engaged in the classroom.
She says she asks herself, " ’What will really get them going and really get them motivated? Is it going to be food we're dividing up? Is it going to be talking about Pokémon cards?’ "
For her, a career in the classroom just adds up.
"Making sure they are going to love every moment. We want to make learning fun," she says. "It's a very fulfilling position for me."
