The council will go through all the details of the election, when it will take place and polling locations.

Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order last week, suspending Hill from office after she was arrested and charged with exploitation and fraud involving a 96-year-old woman.

Orange County Supervisor of Elections Glen Gilzean is anticipating Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer's call for the special election and assures his team is ready to oversee his second election in the position.

“Our staff has over 425 years worth of election experience, so we’re ready for this special election," he said. "It’s allowing citizens and voters to know that when they cast their ballot, it counts,” Gilzean said.

Gilzean, if you remember, started this job last month after being named by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to replace longtime elections supervisor Bill Cowles, who retired.

He says the cost of this election is yet to be determined, and that once they get the official contract from the city council, they'll be able to see those prices and get to work.
