Working with the Brevard County nonprofit Space Coast Honor Flight, Air Force veteran Maj. Lou Seiler has documented 62 trips with other veterans to Washington D.C.

"I try to give them the best image possible," Seiler said, explaining that he spends a lot of time trying to make the photos perfect.

"They're not as good as they could be — there's always something you can improve on a photograph," he said.

It's important to him because he's taking pictures of what might be some veterans' only visit to their war memorials in Washington D.C. — whether it be World War II, the Korean War, or more recent ones.

"These guys, most of them, were there," Seiler said. "They were on the ground, and I feel pride that I'm able to do this for them."

Seiler said he knows the pride that the veterans participating in the flights have for their country — he served around the same time as some of the people he photographs.

Seiler doesn't just see them on the flights either, he snaps pictures of them at the regular luncheons that are held, where as many as 50 to 100 veterans show up.

"They just order from the menu — it's a great, great time," he said. "The conversation goes on, and they, they just have a ball."
