FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — Traffic is being diverted off of A1A in Flagler Beach due to a washout near the water tower.
Officials are sending traffic around onto Clubhouse Drive until repairs are made.
Flagler Beach Police say the diversion will be in place until at least Monday morning.
Residents say it's disappointing to see recent repairs washed away.
"I think we need need to shore this up more," said Flagler County resident Lori Borchardt. "Put more rocksm build more seawalls possibly to keep the water back. Obviously this is going to continue to happen. This is three to four feet of sand that was added recently and the rock aren't holding it back."
The Florida Department of Transportation is monitoring the condition of the road.
The section of the road was seriously eroded due to Hurricanes Ian and Nicole last year.
