There is a shortage of doctors across the United States, and if that's not alarming enough, a new study shows that of the available doctors, only 5.7% of them are Black.

Experts warn that the disparity harms public health.

Spectrum News reporter Tammie Fields spoke to the group behind the recent study for more insight on the shortage.

Dr. Norma Poll-Hunter is the senior director of equity, diversity and inclusion at the Association of American Medical Colleges.

The discussion was about the shortage of Black doctors in the country, the drawbacks with lack of diversity in medicine, and who is affected the most.
