It will be the capsule’s fourth spaceflight. The crew comprises NASA astronauts Steve Bowen, the commander, and pilot Warren Hoburg.
“It’s just incredibly exciting to be here, I think there are more of you here than the last few shuttle launches I was on, so it’s incredible to see the excitement growing,” says Bowen, minutes after touching down at the Space Florida Launch and Landing Facility.
“We weren’t launching from Florida when I showed up at NASA, and now here we are on a beautiful day, arriving in Florida, we just flew over our pad,” Hoburg says.
Russian Cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, and Sultan Al Neyadi, the first astronaut from United Arab Emirates, are both are making their first trips to space.
“I can’t ask for more of a team. I think we are ready physically, mentally and technically, and we can’t wait to launch to space and conduct the mission,” says Al Neyadi.
The crew will be busy with more than 200 science experiments.
Right now, launch is set for Monday at 1:45 a.m. from Pad 39A. The astronauts will then have a six month stay on the ISS.
