BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Law enforcement officials say an all-out search for a missing child in Brevard County came to a happy conclusion Friday.
Dozens of investigators and deputies combed the area around Burgess Avenue where 4-year-old Frankie Orwig III had been reported missing just before 9 a.m.
The neighborhood is surrounded by woods and deputies say they also searched a nearby pond by boat.
Just before 1 p.m., the investigators say a Sheriff's Office helicopter pilot spotted the boy in the woods on his family's property.
A short time later he was reunited with his family.
After several tense hours, shaken neighbors say they were relieved to know Orwig had been found.
"Are you kidding?" neighbor Linda Brown asked. "I'm so proud, so happy law enforcement found this child ... we need this."
