WORCESTER, Mass. - 'Disney on Ice' is making its New England debut at the DCU Center, with characters from 'Frozen' and 'Encanto' coming to life and performing on skates.
Ailsa Robertson is part of the team skating under the bright lights. She's been performing in shows for five years. While it's a team effort when you're on the ice in front of a crowd, Robertson said it's the solo work that gets you ready.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Robertson has been skating since she was about four years old.
"My family moved from the U.K. to the U.S. and we were looking for somewhere cool to hangout," Robertson said. "We found an ice rink and I skated on a public session, refused to get off until my mom said she would put me in lessons and it's paid off.
"A lot of the preparation in maintenance. So, making sure we come out and we skate session for ourselves. Then, taking care of our muscles and our diet and making sure we've given our body what it needs to keep going."
Robertson and the rest of the crew will be skating in Worcester through Sunday. The DCU center said attendance for the shows are breaking records.
