ORLANDO, Fla. — The City of Orlando issued an immediate water usage advisory due to sanitary sewer damage from Hurricane Ian on Sunday.
This is not a boil water notice, according to the city, but it is an advisory to limit unnecessary water usage.
Wastewater staff are in the process of making emergency repairs to return sewer service following a force main break which caused an overflow of sewage into city lakes and streets.
The city is asking residents to refrain from flushing toilets, doing laundry, doing dishes, taking showers or baths and using irrigation systems during this time. Additional water usage will put pressure onto systems already over capacity.
The advisory is in place for the entire day.
