Some of the most luxurious cars and custom rides are rollin' on through The City Beautiful. The really cool thing is that some of your neighbors are buying them, partly because of “Chicken George's” convincing power.

  1. “Chicken” George Boswell got his beloved name from the prime-time television reality series “Big Brother.” The former roofer was known for taking care of chickens.

  2. But George knew his personality would launch him into something he really wanted. While attending a car auction in his home state of Illinois, he asked the lead auctioneer whether there was any job opportunity for him. There was, and he's now in his 13th year with Mecum Auctions as a bidder's assistant.

  3. Folks participating in Mecum Auctions can bid on their dream car on the phone, online or in person. “You can recapture some of the moments that were so, so special in your life,” George says of these nostalgic cars. “That's what I love about what I do.”

  4. Mecum Auctions is taking place right now at the Orange County Convention Center.

  5. Spectators can attend through July 9, 2022. General admission for a one-day pass is $30.
