ORLANDO, Fla. – An East Orlando family continues to hold out hope in their search for their loved one, Bryan Vladek Hasel, who went missing six months ago.

What You Need To Know

  • The search continues for Bryan Vladek Hasel

  • There have been two sightings of Vladek since his disappearance

  • The family is leaving no stone unturned in their search

Vladek was adopted from Russia and joined the Marines after he graduated high school.

The family said he changed emotionally ever since he left the military

The last time his father Steve said he saw Vladek was on November 5, when they were packing their things for an out-of-state trip for his sister Bethany’s birthday. Vladek decided not to go.

They said Vladek had been struggling with depression since he left the military, but without warning, after returning from an out of state trip, the only sign of him was his cell phone inside the apartment he shared with his dad.

“I’m just afraid he’s fallen into harm or has been harmed by someone and we need to know what happened because we need him back,” Steve said. The family emphasized Vladek, 22, wouldn’t hurt himself in anyway.

Orange county Sheriff’s deputies investigated, but the family said they have not shared any new developments on the open investigation with them.

Since Vladek’s disappearance, the Hasel family plastered flyers around the University neighborhood with the hopes that someone recognizes him.

Bethany has scoured the internet on a daily basis using social media to reach as many people as possible.

Nonprofit organizations, and several people across the country, have helped with searches and spreading the word. Lamar advertising has donated 11 billboards in the hopes of finding Vladek.

The basketball court outside his apartment complex is where one sighting happened, according to a neighbor.  “He would spend a lot of time at the basketball courts, that’s how the majority of the people in the complex knew him.”

The other sighting happened on November 6 at a Foxtail coffee shop near his home.

He was cited for trespassing the last time he was there after a customer accused him of displaying a knife violating the coffee shop’s policy. They found the knife inside the apartment when they returned from their trip.

“He’s a great kid. I loved him. He loved his family. He was full of personality. We haven’t seen him for six months. He was full of life.”

The family hopes anyone with any information can provide it to them and law enforcement.
