DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Once again, people in Daytona Beach are getting ready to start their engines as this weekend marks the start of the 81st annual Daytona Bike Week.

Bike Week is celebrated all over Volusia County and parts of Flagler County.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to ride into Daytona Beach for the world’s largest motorcycle event.

This year, it will look similar to Bike Weeks many saw before the pandemic because there will not be any COVID-19 restrictions.

Among all the excitement for people celebrating Bike Week, this is also a time local business owners highly anticipate.

“The entire city and Volusia County benefits tremendously from the influx of people that come in," said business owner George St. Pierre.

Bike Week brings in about $75 million for the area, according to the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Business owners have said they consider Bike Week the unofficial start to their busy season.

Bike Week will last through next Sunday, March 13.
