Washington Reporter Angi Gonzalez brings nearly 20 years of broadcast news and reporting experience to the Spectrum News team. Angi covers the biggest news stories of the day in Washington for all Spectrum News channels and Spectrum News+.
Angi began her Spectrum News career as an anchor and reporter for NY1. During her nearly seven years in New York, she covered a variety of stories that gained national attention, including the devastating impact of COVID-19 on New Yorkers and the city’s economy.
Angi began in the Washington Bureau as the D.C. reporter for Spectrum News outlets in Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, and Hawaii. In 2022, she shifted to a broader role covering the White House, Congress, the federal government and politics for all Spectrum News channels after developing strong relationships with some of the biggest newsmakers in the nation’s capital.
Angi is a three-time Emmy award nominee and the recipient of two Ohio Associated Press Media Editors awards for her work in Toledo. Angi also has worked as a reporter in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
A native of Washington, D.C., Angi enjoys spending her spare time with her family in the area. She is a huge animal lover, a “dog mom” to Gordie - and will take on any story that allows her to interact with pets.
