BRADENTON, Fla. — An old Florida farm that's kept their heritage in the family. We explore this bustling farm that takes us to a Bradenton staple with so much to do and see this fall season.
“Jalapenos, tamales, red hot peppers," Rachel Hunsader said, as she organized part of their massive farmers market.
In fact, Hunsader can name off just about every fruit and veggie you can find at the Hunsader Farms Farmer's Market.
“These are a specific kinds of pepper we even grow right here onsite," she said.
Growing up on this farm she's now the third generation of an old Florida family that has kept the farm up and running for more than 50 years.
“My grandfather and his two brothers first moved down here in 1967 and they started growing tomatoes.”
For more than the 50 plus years in operation, Hunsader Farms has certainly expanded. Hunsader, now a manager on the farm, takes great pride in what her family has created in the farmlands of Bradenton.
Their farm home has a variety of things to do and see for those who visit. Driving across the expansive farm we got to take a look at the 15-plus acres they use for events and festivals throughout the year.
Hunsader shows the farm’s special spot: A pumpkin patch. It's the centerpiece for their annual pumpkin festival that's currently in full swing.
Hundreds of pumpkins, rides, games, and festival activities make for their annual event that's one of a kind on an old Florida family farm.
Their 30th annual Pumpkin festival runs through Oct. 31 and right around the corner, their Country Christmas event will start up mid-December.
