A Lunenburg family is helping give hikers a unique experience out on the trails.
“This is Rocco, Jeffery, and Stevie. These three goats are the first goats. This is how this whole mess started right here,” said Seth Hebert of Central Mass Goat Rental.
Tammy and Seth Hebert now own 22 goats.
“We were just pretty much enthralled by their personality and how fun and happy, they're always happy and playing," said Tammy Hebert of Central Mass Goat Rental.
“It's a lot of work, but definitely a labor of love,” said Seth Hebert.
With permission from the town of Lunenburg, the Hebert’s take hikers, and the goats who want to come, for a walk in the conservation area next to their home.
“The reaction of the people with the goats is what brings me joy," said Tammy Hebert.
Tammy said she started taking the animals on a hike with her friend's dog.
“We realized 'oh they will just follow us,'" said Hebert.
Now, the Hebert's dog, Rocket, is training to lead the goats. Tammy and Seth's daughter, Danielle, tags along, too.
The Heberts also said each goat has unique personality.
“It's all like a big high school clique," said Tammy Hebert.
And when the goats aren’t in their pen or in the woods, they’re traveling to help people get rid of the weeds in their yard.
