The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the fire happened in the 6900 block of Pompeii Road. Deputies responded at 4:40 a.m.

Investigators said that while firefighters were putting out the flames, they found two people dead inside. Another person was taken to a hospital.

Neighbor Steven Camacho, who lives across the street, said the fire was fierce and moved quickly.

"It started small, like on the side porch and patio. We just stayed up, and you see what it became," Camacho said.

"We know the family that lives there — an elderly man who always likes to walk around in a walker," Michael Schadow said.

The condition of the hospitalized person was unclear Friday afternoon. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
