PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — The holiday season may be muted due to the coronavirus, but the Buker family is determined to make Christmas just a bit merrier for as many people as possible.

The Bukers spent Tuesday evening in front of Target and Walmart in Pinellas Park handing out cash to strangers.

Forty dollars here, $100 there until they gave a total of $5,000.

But these gifts ended up being worth more than the money itself.

“It’s good because we actually need it,” said Kimberly Weaver, “because we spent a lot of time with the nonprofit that we work with, so I was actually starting to shop for my family.”

Bob Buker says he’s been incredibly blessed with a successful home construction business and want to share his blessing with others.

“It’s the responsibility of people with money to help the people without it,” Bob said. His nephew Chace help give away money too and came away learning a priceless lesson.

“I just thought it was amazing,” Chace said, “because it’s still so good to give back to the people who need it. Because I’m already fortunate so I like to give back to the people who absolutely need it.”
