SANFORD, Fla. – Seminole County leaders are moving forward on a new multi-million dollar fire station in a growing part of the county that’s seeing more emergency calls and slower response times.

​​The new station will sit near Orange Boulevard and First Street in Sanford. The county is spending nearly $7 million to design and build it.  

The goal is to improve response times and increase the quality of service.  

Fire officials said response times could improve by over two minutes in large sections of the station’s coverage area and over one minute in the majority of the area.​
