OVIEDO, Fla. — Oviedo City Council member Steve Henken is retiring after 15 years of service.

Henken, of District 1, spent 14 years as an elected official and one year on appointed boards.

All five city council members and the mayor serve two-year terms.

Henken most recently defeated challenger Patrick Westerfield in November 2017 city elections.

"It was the honor of my life to have served this long, and I will be forever grateful to this wonderful city that trusted me for so long. We did great things together, and we are and always will be one of the best cities in America," Henken said.
