LAKE NONA, Fla. — A new place in the Orlando area is focusing thinking outside of the box for celebrating the Fourth of July.

Here’s all you need to know about Boxi Park’s Independence Day fun:

1) Repurposed shipping containers

Boxi Park is Central Florida’s first all-outdoor entertainment and dining venue made out of 13 repurposed shipping containers.

“It was a trend that we started to see pop up all around the United States, but it hadn't yet made its way to the Southeast,” said Tavistock Vice President Jessi Blakely.

2) Weekend-long fun

You don’t have to limit your Independence Day celebration to a single day. How about 4?

Boxi’s festivities are Thursday, July 4 to Sunday, July 7.

From Thursday to Friday, it opens at 4 p.m., and on Saturday to Sunday, it opens at 11 a.m.

3) BBQ Cookout

You’re getting a BBQ Cookout featuring ribs, hot dogs, various kinds of Mexican street corn, a red, white and blue ice cream sundae, Jell-O shots, and specialty-themed cocktails.

4) Live entertainment

There is live entertainment by Audio Exchange (Thursday), DJ Richie Rich (Friday), LUVU (Saturday), and Speed Limit (Sunday). The big fireworks show is Saturday, July 6 at 9 p.m.

5) Location

Boxi Park is located at 6877 Tavistock Lakes Boulevard in Lake Nona Town Center, just south of State Road 417 on Lake Nona Boulevard.
