No one was hurt. The diner had just closed when the crash happened, with two customers inside finishing meals.
The diner owner says they heard a loud noise and saw the truck smash through the front door, and the driver wasn't even inside.
“He looked devastated, I feel bad for him," ssaid Stella Cho, whose family owns the diner. "Thank God he wasn’t — I think maybe the side brake wasn’t working, he was apparently running after the truck as it was coming in here. We were unloading some beer.”
The Orange County Building Dept. has been called in to make sure the structure is sound.
Cho says the family has owned the diner for just about two weeks, and it could be several more days before they open again.
