PALM BAY, Fla. — A motorcyclist and his passenger were killed Saturday afternoon after a truck turned into them in Palm Bay, troopers say.

The crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. on Babcock Street at Burgandy Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet pickup was trying to make a left turn onto Babcock Street when the truck hit the right side of a 2007 Honda motorcycle.
Mark Buffington, 30, and his passenger, 53-year-old Heidi Buffington, were thrown from the bike. Heidi Buffington, of Palm Bay, was wearing a helmet but died at the scene, troopers said. Mark Buffington, of Daytona Beach, was transported to Palm Bay Hospital, where he died. It's undetermined whether he was wearing a helmet.
Roger Colvard, 72, of Palm Bay, the driver of the pickup, was wearing a seat belt and not hurt, troopers said. Charges are pending against him.
The crash is still under investigation.
