COCOA, Fla. — Brevard County firefighters were honored last week for their work and dedication in 2018.

The Space Coast Fire Chiefs’ Association Annual Award meeting was held last week at the Cocoa Civic Center.

Eight firefighters spanning the area were recognized. Kennedy Space Center Assistant Chief Carlray Boswell was named Fire Marshal of the Year, and Firefighter of the Year was driver/operator Patrick Madden of Cocoa Fire Rescue.

Other winners included:

  • Fire Instructor of the Year, Capt. Phil Jones (Space Coast Regional Airport Fire & Emergency Services)
  • Fire Inspector of the Year, Tech Sgt. Jerod Trainor (Patrick Air Force Base Fire & Emergency Services)
  • Company Officer of the Year, Lt. Dustin Brewer (Rockledge Fire & Emergency Services)
  • Chief Officer of the Year, Battalion Chief TJ Michaud (Melbourne Fire Department)
  • Fire Chief of the Year, Fire Chief Terry Wooldridge Jr. (Space Coast Regional Airport Fire & Emergency Services)
  • Volunteer Firefighter of the Year, Assistant Chief David Webb (Four Communities Volunteer Fire Department)
