The Florida Forest Service and the Lakeland Fire Department are fighting a brush fire that sparked off Fort Green Road Monday evening.
As of 9 p.m. the forest service estimated the size of the fire at 800 acres. No structures were said to be in danger.

The agency first reported the wild fire on their Twitter page just after 5 p.m. Monday.
