  • More than 164,000 pounds recalled
  • Affected products shipped nationwide, including Florida

The recall includes plain ground turkey, taco seasoned ground turkey, Italian seasoned ground turkey. The products have "use or freeze by" dates of November 12 or November 13. They also have the tag P-579 on the inspection label on the front, left corner of the packaging.

The affected products were shipped to stores nationwide, including California, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Wisconsin.

Food Safety and Inspection Service officials are concerned affected products could be in people's freezers. Last month, Jennie-O recalled 91,000 pounds of ground turkey products.

The recall comes after the CDC reported 52 new cases of illness linked to a salmonella outbreak. So far, 216 people across 38 states have gotten sick since the outbreak began in November 2017.

Salmonella symptoms include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps. Severe cases of salmonella can lead to hospitalizatin or death.
