SANFORD, Fla. — One person is dead and another is in critical condition following a shooting in Sanford Wednesday night.

The two victims were found at differnt locations after police received reports of possible gunshots in the area of 11th Street and Orange Avenue. 

According to the police department, officers found the first victim, 18-year-old Mikel Gilchrist, with multiple gunshots wounds inside a vehicle in front of a home located at 818 East 10th Street. 

He was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital, where he died.

Police then responded to a second call on 1103 Willow Avenue, where the second victim, who has not been identified, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. 

He was transported to Central Florida Regional as well, and is in critical condition. 

During the investigation, investigators determined that both people were injured in a single shooting incident nearby where they were found. 

Police are currently looking for a dark colored Honda which officials say should have bullet holes. The driver of the vehilce has been described as a black male in his mid-20s with dreadlocks. 

Investigators say this person is considered a person of interest and is wanted for questioning.
