In the first incident, a 2002 Chevrolet SUV was headed eastbound on Oakwood Drive, near Henry J Avenue, at about 12:30 a.m. when it was spotted by an Osceola County Sheriff's deputy going the other way, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
When the deputy turned his patrol car around to get a better look at the SUV, the SUV took of "at a high rate of speed," pulling away from the patrol car, troopers said.
The deputy never turned on his patrol car's lights or siren, troopers said, and lost sight of the SUV.
Shortly after, the driver of the SUV lost control, and the vehicle overturned, ejecting 25-year-old and 27-year-old men.
The younger man died at the scene. The 27-year-old St. Cloud man was taken to the Osceola Regional Medical Center in critical condition, FHP said.
Troopers haven't determined who was driving the SUV, and neither was wearing a seat belt, they said. Their identities haven't been released.
A male pedestrian was killed in the second fatal crash of the day.
He was in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 192, near Pine Grove Road, in Osceola County at about 6:50 a.m. when he was struck by a 2018 Nissan four-door, troopers said.
The male died at the scene. His identity hasn't been released.
About 35 minutes later, a female pedestrian was killed in Orange County.
The 54-year-old woman walked into the path of a 2013 Dodge four-door while she walked across Winegard Road near Broadmoor Drive, troopers said. She was about 20 feet north of a crosswalk, they said.
The woman died at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Her identity wasn't released.
