ORLANDO, Fla. — Uber has acknowledged an issue with its app, which is preventing drivers and riders from connecting for fares and deliveries.
People who use the Uber app say the outage had been going on for hours.
Drivers we talked to say they cannot access fare requests, or find out where to pick up deliveries for Uber Eats. Riders say they cannot reach drivers to get updates.
Spectrum News reached out through social media and got notices of outage issues locally, and as far away as Minnesota, Texas, and California.
Uber has not yet said when the outage will be over or what the issue is. A spokesman sent us this statement:
"We are aware of a technical issue that is preventing some customers from using our app. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and are working quickly to resolve the issue."
