BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Brenda Snipes, the embattled Broward County Supervisor of Elections, has rescinded her resignation and plans to fight her suspension by Gov. Rick Scott.

Snipes' attorney Burnadette Norris-Weeks made the announcement during a news conference Saturday.
Norris-Weeks added that Snipes has a legal right to rescind her resignation.
Scott suspended Snipes late Friday afternoon, citing issues with her office during the midterm elections. In her place, Scott appointed Enterprise Florida CEO Peter Antonacci.
Snipes initially planned to resign in early January.
