ORLANDO, Fla. — A defense team has filed a motion to release Bob Ward from prison on bond, pending an appeal.

Bob Ward was in court Monday with his team of attorneys. The former Islesworth millionaire was convicted in June of shooting and killing his wife.

He was originally convicted in 2011, but that conviction and sentence were overturned when it came to light that his attorney didn't object when prosecutors presented evidence and asked questions pertaining to Ward's right to remain silent.

His case was re-tried earlier in 2018, resulting in another guilty verdict.

Ward's attorneys are pursuing his release based on a note discovered in one of his Atlanta homes.

They say it was grounds to appeal, dismiss the case, and try it again.

Ward's family says they found a suicide note from his wife, which allegedly proves she was suffering from depression.
