WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -- A 41-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Wueizman Saul Leal shot and killed his mother, Tania Perez Cruz, 60, Friday night during an argument.
The shooting happened on 14211 Bridewater Crossings Blvd. near Winter Garden at 8:50 p.m.
Orange County deputies were responding to a verbal domestic disturbance when they heard shots fired from inside the home.
Deputies spotted Leal leaving the residence and took him into custody.
Cruz was found inside the bedroom with a gunshot wound. She was transported to Winter Garden Hospital in critical condition. She later died from her injuries.
The sheriff's office said Leal and Cruz got into a heated verbal altercation when Leal pulled out a gun and fired at Cruz several times.
No other information has been released on the shooting.
