Dennis Warren had sought a permanent injunction against Zimmerman, who he says threatened to feed him to an alligator last fall.
In Seminole County court, Warren testified he’s worried about his family’s safety after he claims Zimmerman harassed him with dozens of threatening phone calls, texts and voice messages last December.
Warren was gathering interviews for a documentary produced by Jay-Z about the Trayvon Martin shooting.
He says he first reached out to Zimmerman while working on an upcoming documentary about the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford back in February 2012.
“Because I’m very concerned for myself and my family in regards to the threats I’ve received and the history as I’ve gotten to know this individual,” Warren testified in court.
The judge denied Warren’s petition for an injunction, pointing out there’s evidence Zimmerman has recently tried to contact Warren.
Zimmerman was acquitted in that shooting in 2013.
Warren told authorities he feared for his safety after Zimmerman left dozens of calls, voice messages and texts for him.
Zimmerman is due in court May 30 on a stalking charge.
